UCC colleagues reflected on UNIC work in presentations at the Living Knowledge conference in Girona, Catalonia, Spain, on 26-28 June.

This conference focuses on curriculum and research approaches to knowledge transfer between Higher Education institutions and civil society actors. Held every two years, this conference attracts a range of Higher Education teachers, researchers, policy makers and civil society actors.

Ms Ciara O’Halloran (Research Culture, Engagement and Impact, UCC) referred to UNIC CityLabs in her presentation, while Dr Ruth Hally (Centre for the Integration of Research, Teaching and Learning) commented on curriculum development in support of civic engagement.

UNIC also featured in the keynote presentation by Dr Catherine O'Mahony, director of CIRTL at UCC. Catherine's keynote reflected on how can we ensure Higher Education curricula anticipates and responds to changing cultural, societal, economic, and environmental needs.

The next Living Knowledge conference will take place in Gdańsk, Poland, in 2026.
