Congratulations to Dr Laura Linehan on winning Postgraduate Researcher of the Year award

Congratulations to Dr Laura Linehan who was a joint winner of the UCC College of Medicine and Health Postgraduate Researcher of the Year 2024 Award. This award recognises outstanding contribution by a postgraduate research student in their research field.

Laura received the award in recognition of her:

Attainment and consistency of high-level research achievements, including publications and awards.
Demonstration of a commitment and capacity to communicate the nature and impact of her research both within and beyond academia.
Engagement with external stakeholders and the community.
Her potential to become an inspiring leader.

Laura successfully defended her PhD thesis titled “Infertility and recurrent miscarriage: An examination of pregnancy outcomes, services and patient experience” in May. Her PhD was supervised by Professor Keelin O’Donoghue and Marita Hennessy PhD.

Laura received the award, along with Rasha Alshaikh (School of Pharmacy and Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics) and Lynn Buckley (School of Public Health), at an award ceremony hosted on Wednesday 19 June at the UCC Mardyke Pavilion.
