283 healthcare professionals graduate from UCC today

UCC’s Medical and Dental Conferring's take place today with 283 healthcare professionals graduating from UCC’s School of Medicine and Dental School and Hospital.

Families and friends from near and far including Canada, US, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, India, Brunei, Australia and China and other destinations will join on campus to celebrate this joyous occasion.

A total of 182 students graduate from School of Medicine with Honours Degree of Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, Bachelor of Obstetrics, Master of Research and a Degree of Doctor of Science. 101 students today graduate from the Dental School and Hospital with Diplomas in Dental Hygiene, Diplomas in Dental Nursing, Honours Degree of Bachelor of Dental Surgery.

Head of College Professor Helen Whelton congratulated all graduates: “Today we honour you our students, your hard work, your resilience, your perseverance and your ability. Our health service will be all the richer because of your contribution and your commitment to learning”.

Professor John O’Halloran, President UCC congratulated all graduates “We are delighted today to celebrate the achievements of our graduates from School of Medicine and Dental School and Hospital today."

Special thanks was given to the teaching faculty and the administration staff within the School of Medicine under the leadership of Prof. Paula O’Leary and the Dental School and Hospital under the leadership of Prof. Paul Brady for their dedication and their commitment.
