Gaeilge Lecturers Teaching in other Countries

Three lecturers from the Department of Modern Irish spent time teaching in other countries this spring under the Erasmus Plus scheme.

Síle Ní Mhurchú spent time at the Université de Tours where she taught classes on the Irish language and translation and gave a public lecture on the Irish in continental Europe in the seventeenth century. Katie Ní Loingsigh spent time teaching in Uniwersytet Komisji Edukacji Narodowej w Krakowie in Poland where she gave lectures on language and phraseology. She also took part in a research meeting on a Europe-wide project on phraseology. Ken Ó Donnchú spent time teaching in Charles University, Prague. He attended the Irish classes which Dr Radvan Markus teaches, and had an opportunity to chat with the students. He also gave a public lecture on Early Modern Irish Literature.
