Congratulations to our newest graduates!

On Friday 28^th June, CoMH staff, graduands and their families gathered in UCC’s Devere Hall for our Summer Conferrings.

President O’Halloran opened the ceremony, warmly welcoming attendees to UCC to celebrate our students’ extraordinary talent as they graduate on this incredibly special day.

The ceremony was also livestreamed and President O’Halloran welcomed those “special people, not here in person, who want to share this wonderful day, this special moment, with our graduates.”

With graduates from all of CoMH’s six Schools, graduating from undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes, President O’Halloran said he is very aware that students benefit greatly from the support received from family and partners, and there was a lovely moment during the ceremony when our graduates turned and applauded those who have supported them on their journey through UCC.

President O’Halloran also thanked UCC colleagues for the commitment shown to students, he acknowledged they have one objective, to ensure our students are successful.

Prof Patricia Leahy-Warren, Head of the School of Nursing and Midwifery, commented that: “It is a source of great joy to have 167 students graduate this Summer and these conferrings are a highlight of the CoMH calendar. Thank you to our staff in all six schools, and to clinical colleagues in the health service who generously host and teach our students in our hospitals, as together they graduate outstanding clinicians and health professionals.” 

Congratulating the graduates, Prof Leahy-Warren said: “ The patients and health services that you will serve will be richer because of your contribution and commitment to learning making the world a healthier place.” 

Congratulations to all our new graduates, we look forward to seeing the impact you will have as a health professional in the coming years.
