Implementation Science Training Institute Three-day training event: July 2024

The Implementation Science Training Institute (ISTI) took place at Nano Nagle Place from July 1st to 3rd hosted by Dr Sheena McHugh and the research team from the Health Implementation Research Hub at UCC’s School of Public Health.   

Twenty-six PhD students, post researchers, academics, health professionals and service managers participated in the in-person training. This year we hosted participants from across Ireland, England, the US and Australia who are carrying out health and social care research projects across a range of settings from primary care, hospital settings, community settings and the Irish prison service.  Topics ranged from diabetes management, neonatal care, kidney transplantation, mental health and dementia.  

The training programme was facilitated by national and international leaders in implementation science including Byron Powell, Rachel Shelton, Rinad Beidas, Geoff Curran, Justin Presseau, Jonathon Purtle, Bianca Albers, Sheena McHugh, Michael Sykes and Jenny Mc Sharry. The course was coordinated by Tania McCollum from the School of Public Health.
