Innovation and Impact Showcase features College Research

Professor Thia Hennessy speaks at the Innovation and Impact Showcase, held by the College of Business and Law and the College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences.

An Innovation and Impact Showcase featuring College research was jointly held by the College of Business and Law and the College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences on 9th May 2024 in the O'Rhailly Building. 

A Welcome address to the well attended event was given by Dr Sally Cudmore, Director of UCC Innovation.  Dr Cudmore, alongside Dr Anthony Morrissey, also provided an overview of innovation supports in UCC, and moderated a Questions and Answers session.

Professor Thia Hennessy, Head of the College of Business and Law opened the event, and Professor Cathal O'Connell, Interim Head of the College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences spoke at the close.

College of Business and Law academics presenting at the showcase were Professor Philip O'Reilly of the Department of Business Information Studies on Fintechnext, Scientific Excellence, Industry Impact; Dr Olive McCarthy of the Department of Food Business and Development on Financial Inclusion - Shaping Practice, Policy and LegislationProfessor Louise Crowley of the School of Law on Delivering Ethics Training for Irish Defence Forces; and Professor Ciara Heavin of the Department of Business Information Studies on Commercialisation of CommPal

Also presenting were academics from the College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences  Dr James Kapalo of the Department of the Study of Religions on International licensing of Hidden Galleries Exhibitions; Dr Jason Chan of the School of Applied Pyschology on Empowering Communities by transforming Lab Discoveries into Product Solutions Fearfree Mobility and Step-Up; Professor Griff Rollefson and Dr Shnamundiar L B of the Deparment of Music on 3rd Al Playlist Generator; and Dr Eileen Hogan and Becci Jeffers of the School of Applied Social Sciences on Socio-Cycle , Cycling Policy for Cork City
