Excitement for the year ahead as the College of Business and Law holds its annual orientation for incoming undergraduates, with both application and first preference numbers up 17% on last year.

This year's orientation for incoming undergraduate students to the College of Business and Law  has wrapped up, and the atmosphere on campus is buzzing with excitement and anticipation for the academic year ahead. Held over two days, the orientation program brought together eager first-year students from both the Schools of Business and Law, setting them on the path to success in their university journey.

Orientation events kicked off with the School of Law orientation, Friday, September 6th, where incoming law students were introduced to the college’s vibrant academic environment. The following Monday, the halls of UCC were filled with the next cohort of future business leaders as the Business School orientation unfolded. Both events saw tremendous participation and engagement, with students keen to familiarize themselves with the UCC campus, meet their peers, and begin building the skills and relationships that will define their university experience.

A standout feature of the University's orientation days is the involvement of the Peer Support Leaders, a group of dedicated volunteers from the student body. Peer Support Leaders play a crucial role in easing the transition for new students, offering guidance, advice, and support during these critical first few days. Whether it is help with navigating the UCC campus or answering questions about student life, the Peer Support Leaders ensure that everyone feels welcome and prepared to take on the challenges of their academic journey.

Another highlight of this year’s orientation is the encouraging rise in student interest in the College of Business and Law. Both application and first preference numbers have risen by an impressive 17% compared to last year. This increase reflects the growing reputation of UCC's programs and the continued appeal of the College of Business and Law as a hub of excellence for future professionals in these fields.

As we look ahead to the new academic year, the College of Business and Law is thrilled to welcome such a talented and motivated group of students. Their journey has only just begun, and with the strong support of our faculty, staff, and Peer Support Leaders, we are confident they will thrive.
