Team Mad Scientists – back for the third time in UCC’s Relay for Life!

With students and staff from the MSc in Molecular Cell Biology with Bioinnovation programme, Team Mad Scientists participated in the third “UCC Relay for Life” held on 27–28 February 2015 in support of the Irish Cancer Society.

Organised by the UCC Cancer Society, Relay for Life is a 24-hour walking relay that celebrates cancer survivors, remembers those lost to the disease, and fights back by raising funds for the Irish Cancer Society. 
In 2013, the event raised €21,000 and last year, that amount was more than doubled to €45,000. Like previous years, the event was held at the Mardyke Sports Grounds and Athletics Track, and despite the gusts of wind and rain, Team Mad Sci participated for the full 24-hours.

Thanks to the stellar efforts of team members, Team Mad Sci has raised close to €1,500 for the Irish Cancer Society, and you can still support the team through their online donation site: http://www.mycharity.ie/event/kellie_deans_event until the end of April.
