UNIC: The European University of Cities in Post-Industrial Transition


University College Cork is one of the founding partners of UNIC, the European University of Cities in Post-Industrial Transition. UNIC is an alliance of ten universities across Europe who are working with their cities and with one another to tackle urban challenges and develop shared, sustainable futures.

The UNIC university partners are University College Cork, Erasmus University Rotterdam, Koç University Istanbul, University of Deusto in Bilbao, University of Liège, Ruhr University Bochum, University of Oulu, University of Zagreb, University of Lodz, Malmö University.

Congratulations to our Top Graduates 

Former UNIC student representative at UCC, Ella Barrett, won the Graduate of the Year award at the recent UCC Alumni Achievement Awards ceremony, while our UNIC ambassador Cian O’Reilly won the Peel Memorial Award for top graduates alongside Ava O'Donnell. These awards recognise outstanding academic achievements as well as exceptional involvement in student life - through their engagement in many different activities and initiatives, including Ella and Cian's engagement with and hugely positive impact on UNIC.

Visit the UNIC Photo Display in the Hub Atrium

UCC staff and students are invited to view the shortlisted entries of the UNIC photo competition currently on display in the Hub Atrium and to cast their vote for their favourite photograph. A display of the shortlist was opened today by the Director for UNIC at UCC, Dr Jean van Sinderen-Law and will be in place until March 6th. Jean was joined by the UNIC student representatives, Margarita Linetska and Sadhbh Tierney, whose leadership and initiative brought this competition and exhibition to life.
