UNIC: The European University of Cities in Post-Industrial Transition


University College Cork is one of the founding partners of UNIC, the European University of Cities in Post-Industrial Transition. UNIC is an alliance of ten universities across Europe who are working with their cities and with one another to tackle urban challenges and develop shared, sustainable futures.

The UNIC university partners are University College Cork, Erasmus University Rotterdam, Koç University Istanbul, University of Deusto in Bilbao, University of Liège, Ruhr University Bochum, University of Oulu, University of Zagreb, University of Lodz, Malmö University.

UCC to partner on PhD programme in mobility and migration

MITIME is an interdisciplinary PhD Programme focusing on mobility, migration, and societal transformation. University College Cork is one of seven UNIC universities and ten civil society partners brought together in this programme consortium. Funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Doctoral Networks Call, the programme will recruit 15 PhD students across the consortium, two of whom will be registered at UCC.

Seven colleagues from the Access UCC team recently visited Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) on an Erasmus+ staff exchange visit. The group was hosted by EUR's IDEA Center, with a packed programme focusing on exchange of good practices in widening participation.
