Buses from the City Centre

UCC is served by public transport by two City Bus Éireann routes (No 205 and No 208), connecting the campus to Cork City Centre via Washington and St Patrick Streets. Bus stops are located on College Road / O’Donovan’s Road (Route No 205) and Western Road (Route No 208).

Cork city Bus routes serving UCC 

  • 205: Rossa Avenue C.I.T. – UCC (College Road) – Dyke Parade - Washington Street - St. Patrick Street – Parnell Place Bus Station / MacCurtain St – Kent Train Station (every 15 mins)
  • 208: Curraheen (Marymount Hospice) – Bishopstown – City Centre (St. Patrick Street) – Mayfield – Ashmount – Lotabeg (every 10 mins during day time)
  • 220 / 220X: Ovens – Ballincollig – Model Farm Rd – UCC Western Rd – City Centre – Douglas – Carrigaline – Crosshaven (every 15mins during daytime, 220X every 60mins)

Additional routes

  • 216: buses serve Bandon Road at close walking distance to the Main Campus (O’Rahilly Building entrance).
  • 219: buses (Southern Orbital) provide a link from Mahon / Douglas as far as the Lough (10 min walk to UCC) and further to Wilton and Bishopstown.

Park and Ride

UCC is providing a Park and Ride service on Saturday 12 October. There will be frequent shuttle buses from the UCC Pouladuff P+R car park near the N40 South Ring Road (‘Togher’, exit 7). Shuttles take about 10–15 minutes to reach campus.

Parking

UCC's buildings are located in suburban and city centre areas of Cork City. Site and planning restrictions mean that UCC cannot provide sufficient car parking for all those who would like to drive to visit the College. As a result, those wishing to access the University are strongly urged to use non-car modes of travel outlined below.

Parking Facilities will be available at the following Locations:

  • Perrott’s Inch Carpark (off Western Road)
  • Visitors Carpark, College Road (entry from Perrott Avenue)
  • Dennehy's Cross Overflow Carpark, Magazine Road

Visitor parking is also available at:

  • Western Gateway Building
  • Brookfield Health Science Complex
  • North Mall Campus
