Rebuilding Spaces for Empoderamento
Online Seminar with Joice Berth and Flavia Espindola
The event brought together Joice Berth, author of the influential, Afro-Brazilian feminist source text Empoderamento (not to be mistaken with the English term empowerment!) and Flavia Espindola, a Lisbon-based, Brazilian-born researcher working on lugar de fala, lugar de escuta, lugar de grito [place of speech, place of listening, place of scream] in the context of Brazilian feminist (and) cultural politics.
The seminar was part of the events that the Department of Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies prepared on the 200th anniversary of the Independence of Brazil.
