About Us

The Quality Enhancement Unit (QEU) develops and manages the University's quality processes to support its achievement of the strategic objectives for excellence and to enable a culture of quality based on a commitment to enhancement as outlined in UCC's current Strategic Plan 2023-2028.

The Quality Enhancement Policy describes this commitment in practice and is a reference point for ensuring the effectiveness of quality processes.

Students are embedded strongly in UCC's quality approach and participate as part of the University's Quality Review Panels. External peer and stakeholder participation ensures that UCC's activities are informed by leading international practices and stakeholders' experiences. It also leads to identification of Case Studies of Good Practice, by peer review, distinctive and innovative practices which illustrate excellence already in place at UCC. The University will continue to develop the strength of these student and peer engagements.

The web pages that follow provide information on quality procedures and reports of quality reviews conducted by the University, as well as the Annual Institutional Quality Report, which sets out the institutional quality framework.

QEU is committed to building these webpages as a useful resource for staff, students and the wider public and I welcome any comments or suggestions on that basis.
