Pharmacy PhD Researchers Present Work at SSPC Symposium, GENEGUT Assembly, and Cyclodextrin Symposium

School of Pharmacy PhD researchers were busy the past few weeks presenting their work at various events in Ireland and beyond.

  • SSPC Symposium 2024 in Limerick, Ireland (11-12 June): The annual SSPC Symposium provided a platform for our researchers to take center stage. Ayat Elgammel, Tanweer Dagamin, Laura Koenitz, Nancy Moore, Callum Ryan, Mohamed Elkhasab, and Lyndsey Moore addressed critical challenges faced by the pharmaceutical industry, presenting their valuable knowledge in the field.

  • 21st International Cyclodextrin Symposium in Dunkerque, France (10-14 June): Francisca Soares presented at the Symposium, where she achieved notable success by winning the best poster award for her research on, "Cyclodextrin-based nanoparticles as delivery vectors for oral RNA therapy of Ileal Crohn's Disease". This project is part of her research within the GENEGUT project.

  • InPharma Annual Symposium, Odense, Denmark (10-14 June): Lotte Ejskjaer, Justus Lange and Nicolas Pätzmann presented research at the Joint InPharma & NORDIC POP Symposium.  Their research PhDs are part of the InPharma Network, which is funded from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement No 955756.

  • GENEGUT 5th General Assembly in Porto, Portugal (6-7 June): Miguel Ramôa, Sophia Hoffmann, and Ana Francisca Soares presented their research on treatments for ileal Crohn's disease at GENEGUT's General Assembly in Porto. Their work aims to improve how RNA can be delivered orally to precisely target areas of inflammation in the gut.
