UCC's Economics Department strengthens links with China
30.04.2008

A teaching team from UCC's Department of Economics recently spent an intensive week in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, China teaching students as part of the joint degree programme with the Henan University of Finance and Economics (HUFE).

Links were first established with HUFE in 2007. The programme, a '2+2' degree, means students study for two years at HUFE and two years with the Department of Economics in UCC. As part of the joint degree programme, the Department teaches three modules over the course of the students' two years in HUFE.

The first students from HUFE are expected in UCC for their final two years in September 2008. Dr Declan Jordan, the programme's director, said "we are delighted with the strengthening relationship with colleagues in HUFE and with the calibre and enthusiasm of our students on the programme. We look forward to welcoming our students to Cork in September".
