Robotic Network Repair (CTVR/Intel)

Robotic Network Repair (CTVR/Intel)

Responsible:

Prof. Cormac J. Sreenan

Dr. Kenneth N. Brown (INSIGHT)

Dr. Thuy T Truong

Short description:

The goal of robotic network repair is to restore network connectivity for a partitioned wireless network in disaster scenario. A robot agent will be deployed to discover network damage, RF environment, and physical access, and run algorithms for optimisation of radio equipment use, network service quality, and physical deployment plan. These algorithms will guide the robot to go to specific locations to populate new nodes in order to restore the network connectivity.

The objective of this project is to deploy prototype wireless networks, robotic repair of those networks, and applications implemented on the networks.
