Dr. Muhammad Umer Farooq

Biography

Dr. Muhammad Umer Farooq worked as a post-doctoral researcher in the Department of Computer Science, University College Cork, Ireland from November 2014 - August 2016. He obtained his Dr.-Ing. degree with a grade of magna cum laude from the University of Luebeck, Germany under the supervision of Prof. Thomas Kunz (Carleton University, Canada) and Prof. Stefan Fischer (University of Luebeck), in 2014. Dr. Farooq obtained his BS (Computer Science) degree with a gold medal from Virtual University of Pakistan in 2006, and subsequently he obtained MS (Computer Engineering) degree with distinction from the University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila, Pakistan in 2008.

Research Interests

QoS in computer networks including mobile ad-hoc networks, wireless sensor networks, and cyber physical systems. Design, development, and analysis of protocols for different types of wireless networks, e.g., mobile ad-hoc networks, wireless sensor networks, cyber physical systems, and integrated Wifi and cellular networks.
