New Director of Technology Transfer

Derek Waddell has been appointed as UCCs Interim Director of Technology Transfer.

Derek has considerable experience in Technology Transfer and was the University of Edinburgh Director of Research and Commercialisation & Chairman of the Edinburgh Technology Transfer Centre (Incubation Unit for University Of Edinburgh) from 2005 –2015. Edinburgh is one of the top 5 research Universities in UK and is one of the UK leaders in commercialisation activities. In addition Derek is familiar with the Irish research and technology transfer landscape having engaged with EI and KTI in a number of capacities over recent years.

Derek will be providing leadership for the Bridge Technology Transfer Network in the medium term
