The UCC Music Department will offer Sydney V. Regan Scholarships for the Taught Masters Programmes available in our Department (MA in Irish Traditional Music, MA in Music and Cultural History, MA in Experimental Sound Practice, and the MA in Ethnomusicology).
Terms and Conditions
Applications are invited from students who will commence a Taught Masters programme in Autumn 2024. Applicants should first apply through CRM Recruit (www.ucc.ie/apply) for the relevant programme. The award of the Scholarship is contingent on the student being accepted to the relevant Taught Masters programme.
As required by the Sydney V. Regan Bequest, every candidate for a scholarship must have been born in Ireland, be of a parent who was born in Ireland or have been ordinarily resident in Ireland for at least ten years.
To apply, applicants should complete and submit the Sydney V. Regan MA Scholarships Application Form 2024/25 before the deadline of 5pm on Friday, 9th August 2024.
Each award is worth €3000. Successful candidates will be responsible for the remaining tuition balance.
Assessment criteria:
Applications will be assessed according to the following criteria:
(a) demonstrable excellence in research and/or creative practice
(b) ambitions for undertaking the selected taught MA programme
(c) financial need
The online application form must be submitted by 5pm on Friday 9th August 2024.
