Dr Helen Kelly is Project Lead (South) for ENSPIRED. She is a Speech and Language Therapist and
Lecturer at University College Cork. Helen’s research embraces her clinical experience with adults
with acquired communication difficulties, specifically aphasia. She is particularly interested in how
technology can facilitate the social participation of people with aphasia in every day society. Helen
established the aphasia home café, a conversational space for people with aphasia to meet for
discussions and peer-support.
