Launch of Safe and Sound

30 May 2024

The EDI Unit and the Sexual Violence and Harassment Prevention and Response Manager at UCC are delighted to announce the launch of UCC's Safe and Sound Project.

The Safe and Sound Project is a year long campaign in UCC that will work with student, staff, and external collaborators to create bespoke social media content, posters, digital signage, and events on the topic of sexual violence and harassment (SVH). Funded by the HEA, the project will target marginalised groups or those who may have missed other SVH initiatives. The project is a sex positive one  that forms part of UCC's adherence to the Consent Framework. We are very excited to launch it and look forward to continuing to build a culture of consent, respect, and dignity at UCC.

It will take place on 26th June from 12-1 in the O'Rahilly Building, UCC. We will showcase some of our projects and hear from some collaborators, and take a moment to reflect on all the sector wide positive changes in addressing SVH.

To register to attend, please click on 'R.S.V.P Here'. There is a section to include accessibility needs and please let us know if you would like a sensory map.

At the launch refreshments will be provided, and the wonderful therapy support dogs at Paws @UCC will be in attendance. They are specially trained hypoallergenic dogs who provide support on the UCC campus; please see information about them here: https://www.mycaninecompanion.ie/paws
