Outline

 

To provide a detailed overview of the generation and measurement of evoked potentials from the central nervous system, with special reference to auditory evoked potentials in paediatrics paediatric and neonates.This module will discuss the auditory evoked potentials that are used in the objective assessment of hearing of neonates as part of the newborn hearing screening program. The different generators of auditory evoked potentials, the principles of measurement and its use in clinical practice as part of newborn hearing screening and diagnostic care pathways. 

Practicalities

Timetable with exact location details in Brookfield Health & Science Complex will be confirmed closer to the date and once registration is complete. The duration of the course is two days.
 
There are two options for taking this module non credit bearing for CPD purposes as outlined here or credit bearing see (https://www.ucc.ie/en/ct6102/) for further information. Core modules (10 credits) are available annually and elective modules (5 credits) are available biannually.
 
CPD certificates will be issued upon completion of the module through canvas catalog UCC’s CPD platform. To register for the course you will be required to register with UCC open. All lecture materials will be made available to you on Canvas Catalog.
