World Green Building Week Masterclass at ERI

The Irish Green Building Council (IGBC) introduced the first in their series of Masterclasses during World Green Building week at the Environmental Research Institute, University College Cork on September 20 th, 2012.

This looked at the monitoring of the building ten years after completion. An holistic perspective of the measures used to attain high levels of sustainability were offered by the core team involved in the delivery and ongoing performance monitoring of the ERI.

Following short presentations by Niall McAuliffe, UCC Building and Estates, Meritt Bucholz, Chris Croly, and Prof.Karsten Menzel, there was a discussion of lessons learnt from the construction and operation of the building. The Masterclass concluded with a tour of the ERI Building where there is ongoing monitoring of the building and occupant input to record the actual sense of comfort versus the data on temperature and humidity recorded.
