Cork Neuroscientists hosted at the Embassy of Ireland USA

In recognition of the Irish contribution to the field of Neuroscience, the Ambassador of Ireland Daniel Mulhall hosted Irish delegates of the Society for Neuroscience conference in Washington DC to an Irish Neuroscience Social at the Embassy of Ireland in Washington DC. Many US-based colleagues  also attended a highly enjoyable evening as well

During his speech, Ambassador Mulhall commended the advancement of research in Neuroscience in Ireland in recent years, and commented on the enthusiasm and vibrancy of Irish researchers. In his address, Prof. Cryan emphasised the global nature of neuroscience research and how Ireland’s neuroscience community, despite being relatively small, contributes greatly to this effort. Dr. Anand Gururajan, a postdoctoral fellow in Prof John Cryan’s research group co-organised the event in conjunction with Neuroscience Ireland and Transpharmation Ireland. Cork Neuroscientists in attendance were Prof. John Cryan and Dr. Yvonne Nolan from the Department of Anatomy and Neuroscience, along with Dr. Gerard Clarke, Dr. Marcus Boehme, Dr. Emanuela Morelli, Dr. Eoin Sherwin, Mr James O’Leary and Dr. Josh Lyte.
