ACE at UCC Welcomes Inaugural Cohort of the Postgraduate Diploma in Further, Adult and Community Education (PDFACE)
Adult Continuing Education (ACE), in partnership with the School of Education at University College Cork (UCC), proudly welcomed the first-ever cohort of students enrolled in the Postgraduate Diploma in Further, Adult, and Community Education (PDFACE). This landmark moment marks the introduction of UCC’s first Further Education and Training (FET) teacher qualification, tailored to equip practitioners working with adult learners across both voluntary and statutory sectors.
This new programme is a pivotal step in advancing the professionalisation of adult educators in Cork and beyond. Drawing on the rich history of adult education at UCC, we celebrate the legacy of influential figures like Bertram Windle, Alfred O'Rahilly, and countless others whose contributions have shaped the education of adult learners over the years. ACE looks forward to continuing this tradition of excellence, ensuring that the education and support of adult learners remain at the heart of UCC’s mission.
We are excited to embark on this journey with our inaugural cohort and to further contribute to the development of highly skilled, qualified educators within the diverse landscape of adult education.
