New research aims to transform breastfeed preparation and improve outcomes from birth
New research project will develop practical, evidence-informed approaches to strengthen early breastfeeding support. Led by Dr Kellie Morrissey, UCC School of Applied Psychology, the project is one of seven projects funded under Research Ireland's Innovating in Health and Wellbeing Challenge.

Dr Kerri Andrews longlisted for Scotland’s Highland Book Prize
UCC Director of Creative Writing Dr Kerri Andrews is named on the 2025 Highland Book Prize longlist of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. The prize honours writing that recognises the rich talent, landscape and cultural diversity of the Highlands.

Ríona Hely wins Bonn Óir Seán Ó Riada Competition 2026
UCC BA Arts-Music (Honours) student and UCC Quercus Creative and Performing Arts Scholar Ríona Hely wins Bonn Óir Seán Ó Riada Competition. The Seán Ó Riada Gold Medal competition is a prestigious traditional music competition that focuses on a different instrument every year over a four-year cycle.
