Academic Programmes and Regulations

The Office for Academic Programmes and Regulations (APAR) is responsible for maintaining the University’s Academic Portfolio. APAR validates, implements and publishes the University’s approved curriculum. APAR manages, oversees and guides the programme approval process for new academic programmes and changes to existing programmes/modules across the University.

 

The role of Academic Programmes and Regulations is to:

  • Act as primary University point of contact regarding academic policy, programme structure and regulations in the context of new programme approval;
  • Maintain the academic portfolio;
  • Develop and implement approval procedures for new programmes and changes to existing programmes;
  • Manage the Academic Programme Catalogue and Book of Modules assuring the publication of accurate, timely and high-quality programme-specific information for applicants and other stakeholders;
  • Authorise the curriculum for the opening up of recruitment and the opening of registration for new and ongoing students;
  • Support the on-going development of the University's policies in relation to the curriculum;
  • Maintain National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) levels;
  • Maintain the UCC page on the Irish Register of Qualifications (IRQ);
  • Maintain the Interim List of Eligible Programmes (ILEP).
