Note: Private William Henry Exley died on 13 July 1921 at Kilworth Military Camp from shock and haemorrhage as a result of a gunshot wound to the head. He was a member of the York and Lancaster Regiment and was 19 years old at the time of his death. See Death Certificate (Kilworth District, Union of Fermoy), 13 July 1921; D’Arcy (2007), 29. He had been born on 8 November 1901. His father was a bricklayer in Halifax. He was buried at Fermoy.
