Note: O’Sullivan was one of the three Volunteers killed or mortally wounded at Kilmichael. In 1911 he was one of the nine living children (thirteen born) of the Knockeenadallane (Kilmeen) farmer Eugene O’Sullivan and his wife Ellen. Three of their sons (including James, then aged 24) and two of their daughters co-resided with their parents in that year.
