UCC President, Dr Michael Murphy, launching uccshop.ie extended his congratulations to all involved and said: “With UCC graduates spread across all corners of the globe, this online facility will enable our alumni to connect with their alma mater with pride and honour.”
The aim of the online shop is to make the purchase of UCC branded merchandise and clothing as simple and efficient as possible. “For many years now we have been inundated with requests from graduates and foreign visitors on ways to purchase UCC merchandise - everything from UCC Skull and Crossbones cufflinks to UCC branded hoodies. Now, with ucc.shop.ie graduates, and indeed the general public, can visit our online shop to browse and buy”, explained Mr Terry Brennan, General Manager, Áras na Mac Léinn (Student Centre), UCC.
The uccshop.ie website represents the university’s Visitors’ Centre, Student Centre, Sports Department and the Students’ Union.
“We are delighted to launch the site with over 150 individual items which will grow over time. We have lots of exciting ideas for seasonal and topical gifts and are confident of the popularity of the site” said Wendy Boyd who will manage the day-to-day transactions of the website.
