Dr. Simon Foley

Biography

B.Sc, PhD (NUI) 

I'm a Directeur de Recherché (Cybersecurity) at Institut Mines-Télécom/Télécom Bretagne in Rennes, France. I was previously a Statutory Lecturer in Computer Science at University College Cork, Ireland where I currently hold an adjunct position. Prior to joining UCC I was at Odyssey Research Associates (US) and Cranfield IT Institute (UK) and have held visiting posts at University of Cambridge (UK), IBM (US) and SRI International (US).  

Research Interests

I develop robust techniques for security in complex systems. Current research areas include security assurance, distributed/network access controls, security analytics, threat management and trust and security in cyber physical systems. Application domains range from critical systems to large-scale enterprise systems.
