Your Eligibility

Students must fulfil all academic requirements and pay all outstanding fees to be eligible for Conferring in Autumn 2024.

A formal email invitation will be sent to all eligible students (to your student email address) in Autumn 2024.

Degree parchments will be distributed by the President on the day of your ceremony. 

Graduates who cannot attend on the day will be conferred 'in abstentia'. 

Your parchment will be sent via post to the permanent home address on your file. You must include your Eircode, postcode or ZIP code and your mobile telephone number (including country code). Please ensure we hold the correct address for you via your student admin portal by your ceremony date.

Academic robes

The conferrings ceremony is a formal event and all graduands are required to wear academic robes, also known as academicals, for their ceremony. It is not permitted to alter, add to, decorate or embellish your academicals. Additional items, such as flags or banners, are prohibited.

Gown hire

McGinley Academic Robe Hire will be based in the Dora Alman room on the fourth floor of The Student Hub in UCC to facilitate the collection and return of hired academicals. Please visit www.mcginleygowns.ie to book and pay for your required academicals

Photography

Lafayette Photographers will be located on campus, in the student hub, throughout the Autumn Conferrings 2024 to take professional individual and family portraits. Please visit their website www.lafayette.ie to pre-book now. Pre-booking is highly recommended for your photography session.

Guest tickets

You are entitled to bring two guests to your ceremony. Graduate and guest tickets can be collected from the events team information desk located on the ground floor of the Hub.

Parking
