Work Placement

In the second semester of third year Computer Science students undertake a 6 or 12 month Work Placement in industry (this placement is an integral part of the student's degree). This programme is run in conjunction with the Career Services Office in UCC. Work Placement in computer science is a partnership between the student, the employer and the University. This experience gives students the opportunity to gain practical experience relevant to their course and allows them to put into practice the theories and methodologies studied at University. Students complete their third year examinations in December and are available for employment for a period of six months, from March to September or 12 months from March - March.
