Tree Audit event notice

Community Academic Research Links (CARL) Tree Audit

Monday 11 October, 2-3pm

Opened by the Lord Mayor of Cork, this online event will share the story of three students from School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences, who collaborated with Green Spaces for Health to conduct a Tree Audit for the community. The project was delivered under supervision of Dr Eoin Lettice and through UCC's Community Academic Research Links (CARL) intiative.

Join the community, student researchers and academic partners behind this project as they describe their experiences and how they benefitted from engaging in a community based research project.

Together with and for Community

Green Spaces for Health - Green Spaces for Health is a city-wide, community led initiative. An Eco Social Group; one of the most important aspects of their work is fostering a reverence for nature. Through their work they maintain existing green spaces and seek out new greening opportunities. They also encourage city dwellers to become citizen scientists, to record and map aspects of our natural world and help inform our future decisions, collaborating widely to realise a greener city.

Community Academic Research Links (CARL) - CARL invites non-profit voluntary or community organisations (CSOs) to suggest potential research topics that can be pursued by students on their behalf across a wide range of academic disciplines in UCC.

UCC Community Week: This event is part of UCC Community Week 2021. During Community Week, staff and students across the university come together with community and public sector partners to host community focussed events and activities. The week long programme of events celebrates UCC as a civically engaged university.
