Lucia Hermida Gonzalez

Biography

Lucía has a BSc in Biology (2009) from the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain). She also holds a master’s in Natural Risks (2010) and a PhD in Functional and Applied Ecology (2016) from the University of León (Spain). She joined UCC as a Post-doctoral researcher in the EPA-funded project ClimAtt in June 2017. She obtained a PGCert in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (2020) from UCC. She has Digital Badges in Postgraduate Research Supervision (2020); Fostering Academic Integrity in Learning and Teaching (2023); and in Learning and Teaching with the SDGs (2023) and has done several courses in project management and quality systems. She was Programme Coordinator at the UN Environment Programme GEMS/Water Capacity Development Centre at UCC for five years and has worked as Project Manager for the MIGMOBS ERC AdG project at the Radical Humanities Laboratory.  Lucía has tutored postgraduate and undergraduate students, presented at national and international conferences and has contributed to a large number of scientific publications, including technical guidance documents for the UN Environment Programme.
