For both Arts and Arts (International), you choose four subjects in Year 1 before specialising in two subjects in Year 2 for the duration of your degree. You can explore the different subject combinations below:
*Groups 2(a) and 2(b):Students can combine Group 2(b) History of Art with any subject from Group 2(a) in Year 1 only. Students can only study one subject from Groups 2(a) and 2(b) in Years 2 & 3.
**Groups 6(a) and 6(b):Students may not combine Italian with Celtic Civilisation or Philosophy in Year 2. Students may not combine Geography with Celtic Civilisation, Philosophy or Spanish in Year 2.
The BCL at UCC is a comprehensive three-year law degree that ensures a critical understanding of the fundamentals of Irish and international law, together with exposure to a range of interesting elective areas of legal study. Alternatively, a Law Pathways student can apply for a four-year degree path which will include one or two semesters on either a work or study abroad placement. UCC Engineering BE (Hons) students follow a common first-year programme that provides a broad education in the fundamentals of engineering. At the end of first year you then choose your preferred engineering pathway from one of the following routes:
In third year you choose whether to continue with the BE (Hons) programme or apply to transfer to the Master of Engineering programme (MEngSc).
From Year 2 onwards, students in many of our Science programmes choose a specialised degree stream and graduate with a degree in one of the subjects below. Some degree stream options are available through more than one programme, so make sure to choose the right course code when applying.
