Researchers at INFANT Research Centre UCC are collaborating with an international team on a new survey to find out how the COVID19 pandemic has impacted on parents (women and men) who’ve given birth, or had a stillbirth or neonatal death during the outbreak, around the world. You are invited to take part in this survey if you or your partner are currently pregnant or have had your baby since the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak – from 30th January, 2020. Both mothers and fathers/partners are welcome to participate.

UCC Researcher works on modelling studies to support health services planning
22 May 2020A UCC academic is Ireland's lead researcher on an international COVID-19 modelling study. The Institute of Health Metrics & Evaluation (IHME) COVID-19 resource provides projection models for healthcare capacity for multiple countries around the globe, including Ireland. The projections are helping to inform the resources needed for hospital services, human resources and overall healthcare capacity and utilization.

UCC projects granted funding under Covid-19 rapid response programme
30 Apr 2020University College Cork has been awarded significant funding to research the impact Covid-19 public health measures have had on the people of Ireland, and to also study the genetic makeup of the viruses circulating across the country
The projects are two of 26 proposals awarded as part of a €5m Rapid Response Research, Development and Innovation programme established by the Health Research Board (HRB), Irish Research Council (IRC), Science Foundation Ireland (SFI), IDA Ireland and Enterprise Ireland.
The Programme was introduced to fund research that will provide evidence for the national and global efforts to deal with the virus outbreak.

Health Innovation Hub Ireland COVID-19 Solutions Portal
20 Mar 2020As part of the national emergency response effort, a new Health Innovation Hub Ireland (HIHI) COVID-19 portal went live on 20 March. All over Ireland, companies and individuals are producing solutions to address COVID-19. HIHI developed the online portal to capture these solutions, which are then assessed for suitability, availability and scalability.
