UCC's Short Course Programme Spring 2025

At Adult Continuing Education, University College Cork, our short courses for Autumn/Winter 2024 are currently underway and are no longer accepting applications.

Since 2005, ACE has offered an extensive programme of short courses for the autumn/winter and spring academic semesters. The number of courses on offer has increased steadily over the years as has the number of participants that are attracted to our programmes. We are now one of the leading providers of short courses in an Irish university context with a wide portfolio in our autumn and spring programmes. Typically, the courses we offer are in the following areas: 

  • Art, Art History & Culture
  • Literature & Creative Writing
  • History & Genealogy, Anthropology & Folklore 
  • Climate, the Environment & Sustainable Living 
  • Personal & Professional Development

 

SPRING 2025

Our next programme of Short Courses will be Spring 2025 and they will open for registration early in the New Year. 

In the meantime, you may browse our Autumn 2024 course offerings below to gain an overview of the subjects available. You are also welcome to sign up to receive the Spring 2025 schedule as soon as it becomes available.

Location & Registration

  • In-person Courses: For Autumn/Winter 2024 our short courses will be delivered in various locations at UCC and in partner locations including Bishopstown Library, Wilton and Central Library,  Grand Parade.
  • Registration: Registration for short courses are now via UCC Shop. Should you require assistance navigating your purchase, we have out together a helpful guide for you here:

How to Book a Short Course

To register for a short course: 

  1. Click on any of the courses above to go to the course page and read more information. 
  2. At the bottom of each course page, you will see a button 'Register on UCC Shop Here', clicking this button will take you to the UCC Shop page. 
  3. Choose 'Add to Basket'
  4. Then select your cart (shopping trolley icon) at tthe top right of the page.
  5. If you are happy with your purchase details, click 'proceed to checkout'. Please ignore the coupon box unless you have a reduction code relevant to UCC staff only and for a limited number of other cases.
  6. On the checkout page, enter your details and your debit/credit card information. Click the terms and conditinos and then click 'buy now' or 'place order' (whichever is visible to you). 
  7. Your order will be confirmed and you will receive an Order Number with the date of purchase. Please retain this number for refund purposes. You will also receive a confirmation email from UCC Shop (New Customer Order) with your order details. Please also retain as proof of purchase. Please note: if you are buying a course as a gift or for someone other than the payee, you will be asked at this point to supply the details of the person who will be attending the course.

The closing date for applications is the 30th September 2024. Course commencement details are on each course page.
