About Strategic Planning and Institutional Research
The function is headed by the Director of Strategic Planning and Institutional Research, Rónán O Dubhghaill. It also includes UCC's Data and Institutional Research Officer, Mr. David Hogan.
In summary, the main purpose of the Strategic Planning and Institutional Research function is to:
- Lead the process for university strategic planning and implementation-tracking
- Co-ordinate the development of the multi annual UCC-HEA Performance Agreement and associated annual Self-Evaluation Reports
- Lead and coordinate university submissions to numerous world university rankings systems
- Collect, synthesise and analyse key performance institutional data to support university decision-making and to assess the progress of the university in achieving the targets of its strategic plan
- Participate in national and external university networks from a strategic planning and institutional research perspective
- Conduct ongoing scanning of external trends to continuously inform university strategy, planning and future direction
- Provide strategic planning data, analysis, support and advice for the university. Support and facilitate the development of strategic and future plans for units across the university, to give effect to the university’s strategy
- Conduct regular benchmarking of the university’s strategy and performance to inform the university’s competitive position and future direction
- Participating in national higher education sector KPI development
